Dr. Pura and Dr. Maurita have been heading the free clinic since 2003. Since then, the services have expanded. This clinic is where it all started. At first it was a place to recieve free prenatal care, but now has snowballed into a wide range of free medical services... thanks to the good doctors and our other awesome medical volunteers!

Medical supplies are donated to the clinc through Dr. Pura's family members residing in the USA (myself and a couple Aunties and Uncles) and close family friends. If you want to join our humble little family through donating medical supplies, feel free to hit that "Contact" tab up there at the top of the site and write "Medical Supplies" in the subject line.

FYI:

We send all non-monetary donations through a carrier service. Hold on... let me back up...

So, we Filipinos out here in the United States have what is called "Balikbayan Boxes". "Balikbayan" basically means "Return to Country". It's an extra large care package... kind of like the ones we send to our soldiers overseas, except waaaaay bigger. Whenever the clinic in the Philippines is in need of supplies, we pack up a Balikbayan Box and send it out through a carrier service (The one we use here in San Diego is Pentagon Cargo).

Usually, we send prenanatal vitamins, Vitamin C, children's gummy vitamins, multivitamins, Acetaminophen, thermometers, disposable gloves, ultrasound gel, Batadine solution, alchohol pads, non-perishable food items...I'm sure you get the idea.  We don't send any antibiotics because they have a low shelf life. We usually just send money for that and they buy the meds there.

Anyway, again, if you would like to donate supplies, we would definitely appreciate that. Just hit us up in the "Contact" section and be sure to write in "Medical Supplies" in the subject line.

Thank you!!!!
