Remember
Wall Ball?!
Man, do you remember Wall Ball?! My age is probably showing right now, but that's okay. I'm 34 (ancient, I know). Back when I was a kid in grade school, we used to play Wall Ball. It was the most fun (and at times) most painful game for me. It's played by getting a bunch of kids together and throwing a tennis ball at a wall and someone else catches it. If you messed up catching the ball, you had to walk up to the wall and someone pegs you with the tennis ball. I served out plenty bruises in my day. I was handing out pain like a Pez Dispenser... one for everybody! Although, this one time I messed up and had to lean on the wall. One of the kids cocked back and chucked that ball at me like he had the repressed anger of an adult. I even heard that ball roaring as it came closer. Man, that tennis ball smacked me in the back of my head so hard that it slammed my forehead into the wall. All I remember was laying on the ground looking up at the sky and seeing little flashing lights floating around. I distinctly remember wondering whether or not I should start doing snow angels. Growing up in the 90's was awesome!
Anyway, every summer, I'd pass by the school and see the marks stained on the wall from previous wall ball wars. Those marks reminded me of all the fun we had. It wasn't fun being had by one person. It was a community of kids getting together... and that's what inspired this section. This section of our humble little site is for all the people that donate to help us feed the kids. When you donate, just leave us your name and we'll throw your name up here on the wall... or you could ask us to write "Annonymous" in place of your name. Maybe later, we'll see all the names and realize we're one big team just trying to help out together as a community!
Feed the kids and make your mark!
